Standing On The Verge Of A Champion...

OK kids, time for the fun part. We are down to 4 brackets competing for the top two spots. Here is a standings update with only one game left to play. It will be followed by the usual "what if" scenarios that invariably crop up as we near the end of March Madness and the beginning of the new baseball season (Go Red Sox!)

Standings

1. Dan Kou - 102
2. Rob Dwy - 83
3. James Sch - 81
4. Mike McN - 79

Now, the reason we have four brackets left is simple. The top two, Dan and Rob stand to win the 2006 KP Bracket Challenge stand to win the first and second prizes should Florida beat UCLA in the final on Monday night. However, both James and Mike picked UCLA to win, meaning should UCLA not spit the bit like GMU (nice choke job, didja get blinded by the lights of Indianapolis? What is it with Indianapolis and broken dreams? You'd have thought Tony Snow was Peyton Manning, choking in yet another big game...) At any rate, anti-Colt rants aside, as I was saying, should UCLA win the championship, #3 and #4 will swap places with number 1 and number 2. In short, James & Mike will be ferevishly rooting UCLA on while Dan and Rob will be most strenuously pulling for Florida. Ladies and gentleman, it has been fun, sorry for the delays with scoring updates, but it seems we are almost done. Thank you all for playing, and I will post a final wrap up on Tuesday (or perhaps Monday night should I still be awake...but no promises!) Anyhow, good luck if you are still alive in the bracket pool, and good luck Red Sox. Let us for once finish ahead of the damn pinstripers.....

---------------------------

OK, Florida wins. Congrats to Dan and Rob, you have finished 1st and 2nd respectively. Thanks for playing everybody, see ya next year!
